Google Maps Adds Buttons, Gets Foursquare Feel
Google Maps looks a little scra more than alike Foursquare this week with new "see-in" and "rate and revaluation" buttons along Lay pages. The current buttons feature prominently on each venue's paginate and make it well-off to mark off in and give a ace rating with just two taps.
The climb comes to Google Maps 5.5 for Humanoid along with some tweaks and more integrating for its Latitude service, the company's official social localization-based service aimed at Resolute fans. From each one clock time a user checks in via Google Maps, they're given the options to share the info with their friends on Latitude and/or carry it in public, which shares your localisation "via Google Profile and the Web."
The come of Latitude users is well below the 200 million people World Health Organization use Google Maps worldwide via mobile devices, which makes me curiosity if this might be the beginning of merging its social features directly into Maps.
For those World Health Organization are using Latitude and have grown a bit obsessive about tracking their own comings and goings, particularly with the Location History splashboard, it's also now easier to change your home and work locating inside Latitude.
Also new this week are redesigned transit station pages in Google Maps. Each station foliate now has a list of coming departure times, all the different lines helping the particular station and links to close transit stations. Google's transportation system initiative has been steadily expanding and now encompasses an impressive 446 cities worldwide, meaning it's just every bit undemanding to take down bus and train schedules for Grand Junction, Colo., Norman, Okla., and Halifax, Nova Scotia as information technology is for the Bay Area OR the entire state of Newborn Jersey.
